Position Overview:

The Director of Undergraduate Curricular Analytics and Planning supports the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE), Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) leadership, academic leadership, faculty, advisors, students and other stakeholders on a broad range of projects related to undergraduate curriculum and student success at Georgia Tech. The director analyzes and suggests improvements in programs, practices, policies, and processes; applies curricular analytics to improve degree progression and completion metrics; and engages in strategic planning, benchmarking, educational research, and other types of analysis for areas including high impact practices, experiential learning, academic advising, academic support services, and retention/student success efforts. The director also leads or supports special projects and other initiatives as assigned by the VPUE. The incumbent reports to the Associate VPUE; serves as a member of the OUE leadership team; and is fully involved in all aspects of OUE.

Responsibilities:

• Provides essential support and strategic guidance for undergraduate academic planning; this includes working with curricular analytical techniques to examine undergraduate students’ pathways and progress to degree completion and partnering with faculty and academic leadership to inform responsive innovation based on the results of analyses.

• In partnership with OIT/EDM, Registrar’s Office, and other units, may support or lead implementation of software or analytical tools related to undergraduate student success.

• Prepares and contributes to reports, program reviews, benchmarking studies, research, and other documentation.

• Leads or supports special projects and initiatives related to undergraduate education, including academic policy, course planning, curriculum, and student success initiatives.

• Works with the VPUE, OUE leadership, and academic leadership to develop methods for measuring and assessing progress towards the Institute’s strategic goals for undergraduate education.

• Ensures academic data and analytics are incorporated meaningfully and effectively into recommendations for curricular planning, academic policy formation, and decision making by the VPUE and other Georgia Tech leadership.

• Serves on or chairs committees, task forces, and other working groups related to areas within OUE or undergraduate education at Georgia Tech.

• May supervise professional and student staff, including graduate assistants.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the VPUE in support of OUE and its mission.

Qualifications:

Required Education
• An earned doctorate (PhD or EdD) or equivalent terminal degree from a research-intensive university in a discipline appropriate to performance of the Responsibilities (above). Candidates near the end (within 1-2 years) of such a terminal degree program may be considered; hiring would be contingent on completion of the degree.

Required Experience, Skills, Abilities
• Three or more years working with undergraduate curricular initiatives, primarily within undergraduate STEM disciplines
• Experience working with student success, advising, and/or retention platforms (e.g., EAB, Starfish, Civitas, etc.)
• Basic familiarity with curricular analytics as a tool to understand student progression through degree programs
• Experience in project management and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
• Experience with quantitative or qualitative research methods
• Experience with research and report writing, including the ability to summarize analyses of data to varied audiences and to constituents in a clear and concise manner
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, intercultural competence, and problem-solving skills
• Experience supervising professional and/or graduate student staff (preferred)

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be hired at the Academic Professional (AP), Associate AP, Senior. AP, and/or Principal AP level commiserate upon experience

This is a 12-month, non-tenure track, academic professional position (academic rank may be negotiable depending on selected candidate’s credentials). The Institute offers a competitive salary and an excellent fringe benefit package as well as an exciting, challenging, and rewarding work environment.

Anticipated salary is in the $85-95K range but is negotiable based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
