We are looking for a part-time Social Media Specialist who would effectively manage our primary social media accounts and elevate current efforts. This individual would be responsible for ensuring the College’s social media presence is visually compelling, engaging and effective with target audiences to help advance the institution’s mission, vision and strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate has proven experience with developing a comprehensive social media growth plan. This individual needs to be a creative content crusader—someone who can own and execute all aspects of social media content marketing—from developing a content calendar, collaborating with content contributors and stakeholders across campus and curating engaging static, multimedia and student-generated content that delivers results. Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Minimum of an Associate’s and two years of related business experience in social media account management, content marketing planning, curation and implementation; Equivalent combination of other education and work experience will be considered Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s degree and three years of related business experience in social media account management, content marketing planning, curation and implementation. Minimum Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrated writing and editing skills; Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with administrators, faculty members, students & staff, to generate story ideas for social media channels
- In-depth marketing and operational knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn; Experience with additional platforms such as SnapChat and TikTok are a plus; Must possess knowledge of trends, best practices in social media and digital engagement.
Demonstrated ability to use social media to communicate effectively with diverse audiences is essential
- Must be able to develop performance reports for leadership
Experience with creative tools such as Photoshop and Canva, as well as social media management tools such as HootSuite is preferred
- Proven ability to work in a team context and to set priorities, manage and complete projects on time and be able to manage multiple initiatives/projects at once

Content Creation
- Planning, creation and editing of written, video and photo content that is engaging and effectively reaches the College’s target audiences
- Creates digital graphics such as banners, custom images, icons, ads and photos for daily social media content and campaigns
- Produce and host live streamed events on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. that align with institutional priorities
- Attend school events, take photos and post timely content on social media
- Collaborate in developing content with students and employees across campus
- Provide consultation to other departments on social media best practices and assistance with their social accounts
Branding
- Works collaboratively across the college to implement new storytelling strategies through social media
- Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
- Identify target audiences, monitor the College’s social media accounts and offer constructive interaction with users
Content Calendar
- Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing initiatives
Social Media Campaigns
- Develops social media micro campaigns that exceed intended goals set by Marketing department
- Optimize content strategies and tactics based on platform performance, using a combination of paid and organic campaign efforts
- Responsible for monitoring, developing, and administering social media content designed to engage users and create an interactive relationship between various audiences and the College
Evaluation and Reporting
- Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media campaigns
- Develop and deliver performance reports to Executive Director of Marketing
- Make recommendations for new strategies or iterations to existing ones to yield better performance with social media efforts
