Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening of
Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the
Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is responsible for
leadership and direction in support of the college's strategic
plan, ensuring that the college continues to recognize and value
the importance of diversity in our institution at all levels.
Position would need to envision, identify, develop and implement
systems, policies and programs that will ensure and provide the
leadership in championing an inclusive community.
The Director will serve as a strategic partner and provide
advisory services with organizational learning and development,
talent acquisition and engagement, cultural programming and
curriculum enhancement around issues of race, culture and equity.
The position will be responsible for developing and building a
network of resources in the college and the community that leads
the community in building and sustaining a dynamic and inclusive
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads and collaborates on a comprehensive diversity, inclusion
and equity initiatives.
Works as a strategic partner with various groups and committees
to develop and implement specific programs and initiatives aligned
with policy and procedures in the areas of talent acquisition,
retention, program development, student success, and cultural
Works in a collaborative process to develop and review related
college policies and administrative regulations and procedures in
accordance with legal obligations and best practices.
Provide college-wide initiatives, training, and programming for
students, employees and managers to promote dialogue about equity
and inclusion, build cultural competency skills, and improve campus
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the
implementation and outcomes related to any of the recruitment and
retention strategies or initiatives.
Promotes college commitment to a climate of equity and inclusion
by establishing a network of internal and external
Collaborates with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Human
Resources to develop college-wide goals for equity and inclusion to
promote access and opportunity, and to eliminate barriers to
enrollment and completion.
Develop and maintain the Affirmative Action Report.
Work with Marketing to develop diversity, equity and inclusion
marketing materials and messaging.
Assist the Executive Director of Human Resources and Dean of
Student Affairs with Title IX matters.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Master's degree from an accredited
institution of Higher Education in social justice, ethnic studies,
sociology, anthropology, cultural history, education, labor
studies, human resources, or a closely related field.
3-5 years of related work experience
in Higher Education that has included program planning, evaluation,
and reporting with emphasis on diversity, equity, and
Demonstrated goal measurement,
coaching and team development, problem solving/issue resolution,
collaboration, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated cultural competence,
sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic,
socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity and ethnic
backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
Demonstrated ability to communicate
constructively and respectfully with people of diverse genders,
cultures, language groups and abilities.
