Description

The Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin and Dell Children's Medical Center (DCMC) is seeking a full-time Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) cardiologist to support our rapidly growing team within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease (TCPCHD). The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, leadership, and innovation alongside our current ACHD cardiologist and advanced practice provider. Although patient care is our primary focus, education and research are also encouraged and supported with access to dedicated research professionals including a statistician, research manager, and research coordinators. Our practice is located in central Austin, providing inpatient and outpatient support for all of central Texas and beyond.

The position encompasses responsibilities in patient care, administration, program development, safety, quality and access for all ACHD services. This position will work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and the leadership of the TCPCHD to execute on yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care: safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship. Routine patient care will include: Outpatient clinic, inpatient consultation, supervision of advanced practice providers, periodic coverage of satellite clinics, and hospital service.

Qualifications
  • Interested individuals should be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology and able to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field or have completed an American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in clinical care at higher volume ACHD centers and those with ABIM board certification in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
  • Additional preference will be given to those with previous experience or education in medical administration and those who have clinical research experience
  • Eligible for faculty appointment at The University of Texas at Austin.
