Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage program resources, providing oversight for the school district and partner subcontracts issued annually;
  2. Ensure that the participating school districts receiving GEAR UP funding meet all Federal and State compliance expectations, and implement GEAR UP activities as defined in the approved GEAR UP grant and the approved school district work-plans;
  3. Lead and/or coordinate training on compliance and program implementation on an annual basis to all school superintendents, GEAR UP liaisons, school district finance officers, and school principals, as well as when needed;
  4. Refer to Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A-21 and A-110, and the authorizing legislation to ensure that appropriate federal guidelines are met in expenditure of funds, and that proper documentation is in place;
  5. Represent the Delta GEAR UP Partnership project to students, parents, school personnel, identified GEAR UP partners, and other community organizations; maintain regular and ongoing communication with all identified partners with a primary emphasis on partners providing grant-wide services;
  6. Support the evaluation effort of the grant including data agreements with schools, updated evaluation plans for each year, maintaining accurate student records and overall grant services; lead the development of project-wide professional development and other grant-wide services as described in the approved narrative;
  7. Develop strong collaborative relationships with the community partners, to mobilize the partners to provide supplemental services that will advance the GEAR UP mission, and to document cost share provided by the partners on a monthly basis;
  8. Develop and maintain positive relationships with university, state, and regional stakeholders and others in order to enhance student services delivery and strengthen opportunities for individual student success and project wide success in meeting objectives;
  9. Provide leadership for sustaining the GEAR UP projects in the individual school districts after the federal funding ends;
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Education Leadership, Counseling Education, Community Development, Social Work or field related to the goals of the position and experience in educational access programming; experience working with federal grants or federal funds; a working knowledge of the federal and state statutes, regulations and guidelines that govern federally-funded grants; superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; an overall track record of professional experience demonstrating success in positions of progressively increasing responsibility and authority, including personnel and fiscal management, evaluation, and strategic planning; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

Superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; an overall track record of professional experience demonstrating success in positions of progressively increasing responsibility and authority, including personnel and fiscal management, evaluation, and strategic planning; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.
