About the Opportunity:
The Sayre Photochemistry Lab at Northeastern University seeks one
enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to commence spring 2022. The
research focus will be on transient absorption spectroscopy to
investigate photocatalysis mechanisms and developing supramolecular
photocatalysts for organic synthesis. Projects may involve
inorganic synthesis, catalysis, steady-state spectroscopy,
electrochemistry, and time-resolved spectroscopy. Other potential
projects that align with our general direction are also
The primary responsibility of the postdoc is to conduct research.
The postdoc is also expected to write research papers, present
research at meetings, contribute to research proposals, manage
research data and software, and assist in mentoring graduate and
- The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills,
communication skills, and be highly motivated.
- Demonstrated research experience in inorganic synthesis,
photocatalysis, or spectroscopy.
- Expertise in time-resolved spectroscopy will be a plus.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry, physical
chemistry, or a closely related field.
How to Apply:
Applications should contain a cover letter briefly describing
candidate's research experience and interests, a full CV with a
publication list, Ph.D. completion date, and the names and contact
information for three references who might be contacted for
