Faculty Position in Women’s Health in Public Health

The Position
The Department of Public Health in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) seeks applicants in the area of women’s health with a research focus in health disparities, women’s health throughout life, maternal health, and/or reproductive health. This will be a nine month appointment with the possibility of internally or externally funded summer support. The successful candidate will bring/build an independent externally funded research program. The individual is also expected to participate in teaching and outreach activities consistent with the candidate’s area of expertise. Many opportunities exist to collaborate with researchers in these areas as well as other areas in HHS units and campus-wide emphasis areas (e.g., nutrition, obesity, gerontology, child/adolescent development, disease prevention, imaging, biomedical engineering).
The Department of Public Health
The overall mission of the Department of Public Health is to conduct the highest caliber cutting edge research in Public Health, to educate students in a diverse and inclusive environment, and to promote health through engagement with the public. The department is committed to providing exceptional undergraduate and graduate education and currently has approximately 188 undergraduate students in multiple majors and 250 graduate students.
Requirements
All applicants must hold a doctorate in public health or a closely
related field. Postgraduate experience, a strong publication
record, or potential to obtain external research funding is
encouraged. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to advancing
diversity, equity, and inclusion (for example, with a demonstrated
success in mentoring students underrepresented in academia or a
research focus that contributes to understanding diversity, equity,
and inclusion) are encouraged. Opportunities for professional
