Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Parking Operations, this position develops, implements and evaluates communication, promotional and outreach programs which promote the awareness and use of Transportation Services programs. This position develops annual communication plans, coordinates departmental communications with internal and external stakeholders, produces and shares content across multiple channels, and ensures alignment with campus and divisional branding. This position works closely with the marketing specialist and FP&M communications team.

This position requires extensive communication, often of a highly sensitive nature, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with UW faculty/staff, students, administrative officials, contractors/vendors, and the general public. In addition, the ability to exercise sound independent judgment and discretion in developing, applying and interpreting parking policies and procedures is imperative. This position also requires excellent organizational skills and well-developed ability for tact, judgment, confidentiality, integrity and independent decision making.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree in public relations, organizational communication, general business communications, or related field

Qualifications:

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, organizational communication, general business communications, or related field
- Two or more years of relevant work experience in a communications role

Preferred:
- Knowledge of basic journalistic principles
- Experience writing and editing for diverse audiences
- Experience with social media, including Twitter, Facebook and other mediums
- Knowledge of social media management tools
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software, including InDesign and Illustrator
- Experience with WordPress and basic HTML
- Experience with marketing automation platforms
- Ability to exercise a strong sense of priority and time management
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration
- Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and quality oriented
