Position Summary
This position will also hold the title of Director of Policy of the UGA River Basin Center ( RBC ). The position will be interdisciplinary in nature and will conduct research in environmental policy and ecology, instruct undergraduate and graduate level courses. The position will provide leadership to the policy work at the RBC, enhance connections with other campus units, and attract external grants and contracts.
The Odum School of Ecology of the University of Georgia ( UGA ) seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track or tenured position at the assistant or associate professor level in the area of environmental policy and ecology.
We welcome candidates who work in any policy area with a connection to water, such as water institutions and governance, environmental justice, land use, water quality, climate change, imperiled species, nature-based infrastructure, or coastal issues, and socio-ecological systems.
As co-director, this position will provide leadership to the policy work at the center, enhance connections with other campus units, and attract external grants and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications
Eligible candidates should have a PhD in ecology, environmental science and management, or a related field, and a track record of publishing peer-reviewed articles commensurate for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates with a PhD in public policy or a related field will be considered if they have the experience or training in biophysical sciences necessary to advise graduate students in ecology; the latter requirement can be met with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a biophysical science or demonstrated publication record in ecological journals.

To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an Associate Professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.
