The Head Coach for Women’s softball is responsible for managing an intercollegiate softball program to include recruiting, instructing, and coaching students and coordinating various program related activities. The head coach of Women’s Softball is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Bay College and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Minimum Qualifications
• Associates Degree
• College coaching or playing experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the sports program.
• Knowledge of NJCAA regulations and guidelines governing recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
• Ability to maintain an effective sports program.
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to lead and guide student-athletes.
• Ability to travel to team competitions.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
• Ability to adapt to change in processes and procedures.
• Enthusiastic, people orientated, a winning attitude.
• Passion for results. Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Prior higher education recruiting experience. Months Per Year 12 Hours Worked Per Week Dependent upon game and practice schedule Work Schedule Seasonal Supervision Exercised

Job Duty
Teach sport skills, condition and motivate student-athletes to positive action and utilize effective strategies to produce a successful student experience. Job Duty
Monitor student-athlete attendance, academic progress and graduation. Job Duty
Oversee and monitor the conduct of the student-athletes and under the direction of the Athletic Director, oversee discipline of student-athletes if necessary. Job Duty
Monitor recruitment needs, recruit a sufficient number of new student-athletes annually and retain current student-athletes, in accordance with NJCAA rules and regulations, through scouting, attending games/tournaments, and home visits. Job Duty
Assist student-athletes going through eligibility requirements/compliance paperwork. Job Duty
Plan, prepare and administer practice plans and competitive strategy plans. Job Duty
Work with the Athletic Director to arrange team schedules, including travel to games and practice. Job Duty
Work with the Athletic Director to ensure game day operations are in place, including officials, venue and trainers. Job Duty
Provide statistics and reports to the Athletic Director, Region XIII, and the NJCAA when needed. Job Duty
Direct all aspects, areas, and components of the team. Job Duty
Represents the sport program at various institutional programs and externally to the media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the community. Job Duty
Support the vision/mission of Bay College by providing student success, culture of success, and community success. Job Duty
Support all college efforts for student completion. Job Duty
Any other duties as assigned
