Schedule Information: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Hours per Week: 37.5 hours/week

Duties of Position: Facilitates professional learning and development for all Harper staff through a variety of content and adult learning delivery methods. The coordinator will interact with a wide range of stakeholders to develop or procure leadership, technical, compliance, skill, and professional development programs, and monitor their effectiveness. Incorporating the College’s core values, strategic initiatives, DEI principles, and a competency-based framework into learning outcomes will be a central goal. This is a hands-on role requiring planning, tracking, and detailed project organization and execution.

Develops and facilitates employee development programs that are cost effective and focus on general concepts and competencies for employees, knowledge or skills acquisition, compliance, safety, and leadership competencies.

Develops and facilitates high-impact learning experiences grounded in adult learning principles using a wide variety of delivery methodologies (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, workshops, virtual learning, webinar, instructor-led, e-learning)

Researches and identifies suitable employee development solutions and prepares programs, objectives, and materials utilizing a variety of delivery modes and media-rich content to increase engagement and learning outcomes

Applies adult learning principles and techniques and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques

Assesses data analytics and other relevant methodologies to drive decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of training and development efforts

Collects and evaluates training feedback to identify areas of improvement

Develops detailed project plans to ensure quality standards and timelines are met

Maintains learning and development records

Facilitates train-the-trainer sessions to assist leaders with expanding team development

Distributes content and provides input to communications to ensure employees throughout the College have knowledge of employee development resources

Assists employees or supervisors with building individual professional development plans

Works with HR leadership, the Academy for Teaching Excellence and in collaboration with other departments, coordinates College Professional development day.

Works collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities

Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree preferred.

APTD or CPTD Certification from Association for Talent Development (ATD) highly preferred, or certificates in training design and delivery, facilitation, instructional design or performance.

Experience Requirements: Three years minimum of demonstrable experience in training, organizational development and/or instructional design, preferably within a community college setting. Project management experience required. Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills required, including written and oral communications, listening, presentation, group facilitation, influencing and negotiation. Must be able to work independently and have an understanding of adult learning theories and practice, including how various presentation methods cater to individual adult learning styles. Experience completing a full training cycle required (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
