Summary of Job Duties:The Employee Services Specialist will provide a broad range of support to the human resources office including employee relations, benefits, recruiting, and student employment managers. The position requires confidentiality, efficiency, and accuracy of employee and departmental information. The position reports to Associate Director, Employee Services, Human Resources.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One-year experience working in employee relations, customer service, or human resources environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of relevant experience in employee relations, customer service, or human resources
  • Experience with Workday or other human capital management systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to self-start with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in an emotionally charged environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Provide administrative support activities for Employee Relations including but not limited to data entry, reports and data gathering, filing, and records retention processes. Serves as Records Custodian.
  • Participate as an observer/note-taker in various employee meetings to develop a record of the discussion.
  • Compose and prepare employee correspondence, coordinate meetings, follow-up on inquiries, and verify unemployment claims.
  • Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations, refers more complex questions to appropriate HR administration.
  • Review Workday exit interviews and ensure necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special human resources events including new employee orientation, benefits and recruiting events, and employee recognition events and celebrations.
  • Serve as point of contact for student employee managers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
Salary Information:

$30,000 - $34,000

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 50 pounds. Routine work schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional overtime and travel required
