Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant to the Dean of Students is responsible for coordinating the needs and activities of the office of the Dean of Students. This position serves as a liaison between students and Dean of Students and UA Cares services, will assist with the development and implementation of program activities and initiatives, and should be prepared to provide strong customer service skills to students, parents, and other members of the campus community. Other responsibilities can include responding to phone calls and emails, setting and maintaining budgets, and building relationships with the campus.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of experience in program administration or related area



Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, higher education administration, counseling, or directly related field of study from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least four years of experience performing general administrative support that includes but is not limited to, answering phone calls, calendar management, and working with databases

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and master new software and applications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the University's proprietary software programs, Workday, and UA Connect

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Basic understanding of and skills in Microsoft Office suite



Salary Information:

$31,950
