Summary of Job Duties:Job Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration (Associate VCFA) reports directly to the VCFA, who is the chief finance & administrative services officer of the College. The Associate VCFA is responsible for assisting with (a) financial and administrative planning and (b) directing the College's business office, human resources, computer services, and physical plant facilities and grounds. In addition, the Associate VCFA is responsible for assisting with the leadership for all facilities planning and construction and other duties/projects as assigned. This position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and may work closely with other members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Essential Job Functions

To be responsible for designing and implementing a systematic plan for areas supervised. The plan will include a program for the annual evaluation of all areas of responsibility and supervised employees and recommendations to the Chancellor regarding the re-employment of those staff members. (Records of the evaluations will be sent to the Office of Human Resources by the Chancellor.)

To work closely with the Vice Chancellor for Finance, Vice Chancellor for Academics, Vice Chancellor for Student Services, and the Chancellor in the preparation and control of the college's budget.

To assist in the supervision of accounting, internal control, purchasing, inventory, and budgetary control and work with the office of human resources to maintain a proper system for payroll and payroll accounting.

To assist with the correct assessment, collection, and depositing of all tuition, fees, and monies due to the college.

To assist with the correct disbursement of college funds.

To assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports as required by the Chancellor, the University of Arkansas System Office, and other government and educational agencies.

To assist in the administration of all operation, maintenance, and new construction of the physical plant.

To coordinate, supervise, and recommend staff and policy for the specific functions of the business office, computer services, the physical plant, and human resources.

To work closely with the instructional and student services areas of the College on tasks that involve combining efforts from each area to fulfill the mission of the College.

To serve as the agency purchasing official for the College.

To serve on the Chancellor’s Cabinet, attend Leadership meetings, and serve on other committees as appropriate.

To be responsible for implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion through (a) equal employment opportunities and (b) day-to-day operations in his/her area of responsibility.

To perform other additional duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration.


The successful candidate will possess the following:

· Bachelor's degree required, preferable in Higher Education Administration, Finance, Business or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Master's Degree preferred.

· Minimum of five years’ experience in administration required, community college experience preferred.

· Skill in supervisory leadership, managing, organizing, oral and written communications, human relations, negotiation, budgeting and project management.

· Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations including generally accepted accounting practices and principles.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
