UVU Dining Services has a place for you! We are seeking two restaurant managers for each of the following, all located on the main campus of UVU in Orem. *
  • Arby's
  • Costa Vida
  • Papa John's



We are seeking energetic and creative individuals with strong communication, management and leadership experience. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently on several projects, be detail-oriented, have strong time management skills, and comfortable working confidently in a constantly changing environment. The position necessitates continual interaction with guests, employees, staff and requires a positive, can-do attitude. We are seeking individuals with a high level of professionalism and excellent communication skills. Creating a safe, secure and healthy work environment and ensuring employees follow all safety and health guidelines. This position may manage as many as 3 part-time employees and 35 student employees.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Regulate the day-to-day store operations and physical upkeep of facilities.
  • Performs administrative, labor management, and customer care duties.
  • Maintains inventory levels, initiates marketing strategies that drives store sales.
  • Labor management duties consist of interviewing job applicants, creating work schedules, and motivating associates.
  • Ensure superior customer care, the manager monitors customer satisfaction and resolves customer issues.
  • Mangers also greet, interact with, and personally serve customers.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling at least seven years.

ServSafe certification, valid driver’s license, and Utah food handler’s permit.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the operation/management of a food service operation or a quick-service restaurant, including cost
  • computations, comparative buying, keep up with the franchise standards, etc.
  • Knowledge of food, food hygiene (including hazard analysis and critical control points), and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services needed in event preparation and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of institutional policies and/or staff hiring procedures.
  • Skills in public and human relations, including interpersonal problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Tact and diplomacy
  • Team working skills and the ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills including the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff.
  • Drive and determination to improve standards and profitability.
  • Skills in training, supervising, and evaluating the work of subordinates.
  • Skills in employee development and performance management.
  • Stamina and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage, supervise, and direct the activities of a small remote retail operation and/or a quick
  • service restaurant.
  • Abilities in the budget, food costing analysis, and preparation for department operation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to issue corrective action notices to ensure consistency in all operational management.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early and late hours, and Saturdays.


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related disciplines, and 5 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager.

Physical Requirements:
Physical abilities include continuous walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, standing, grasping, pushing/pulling and ability to lift greater than 25 lbs. Must be able to talk, hear, see and fine hand manipulation.

Pay Range: $39,064 - $48,831 DOE
