The Department of Educational Administration (EDEA) in the College of Education, University of Hawaii at Manoa invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning August 15, 2022. Position Number: 0082006.
This position serves as the lead for the Doctorate in Education in Professional Educational Practice (EdD) degree program. We seek candidates whose work considers how educational leadership might disrupt, reify, and/or exacerbate inequities in pre-K-12 through higher education teaching and learning environments. Areas of research might include anti-racist, Indigenous, or decolonial leadership, student affairs, critical policy analysis, culturally sustaining educational programming, and evaluation. This position is open to scholars with a range of leadership topics and methodological approaches. A demonstrated commitment to advancing equity in research, teaching, and advising is required.

Salary Information: Minimum of $64,896, commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
Other Conditions: General or Special funds, contingent upon position clearance, department needs, and fund availability. Selectees are required to complete the COE New Faculty orientation in the first year, Title IX training, and pass a criminal background check.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the College of Education’s EdD program focusing on developing leaders in professional practice (e.g., recruit and oversee cohort admissions, coordinate student dissertation committees, develop curriculum, and assignment of affiliate faculty and adjunct faculty to courses in the EdD program).
- Advise students in the EdD program and other graduate programs as needed;
- Maintain an active program of research/scholarly activity and publications in area of specialization;
- Teach graduate courses in educational leadership via on campus and/or a variety of distance delivery modes;
- Supervise independent study activities and off-campus learning such as practicums and internships;
- Provide service to the department, college, university, public and charter schools, and professional community;
- Participate in program review, program assessment, and accreditation activities;
- Other duties as assigned.
