Position Overview:

Develop, implement, and manage UCO Athletics' external sales and marketing strategy. Responsible for the solicitation and fulfillment of athletic corporate sponsorships advertising program, to include management of signage, radio/web broadcast, print and digital assets, as well as game/event sponsorships. Responsible for the overall marketing and promotional efforts. Collaborate with others to sell tickets, including single-game, season and group ticket packages. Create activities for sponsors/advertisers at athletic events, along with game day and in-game promotions to engage fans, create new fans, increase ticket sales, enrich experiences and heighten exposure for UCO Athletics.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Develops and implements weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual marketing strategies, as well as a comprehensive sales promotion plan, for UCO Athletics in order to maximize revenue and strengthen community ties. Oversees development of proposals and prospecting of new clients, coordinates sales calls, solicits support and builds relationships with key external constituents in an effort to form corporate partnerships and sell advertising inventory (stadium/arena signage, game day advertising, videoboard/webstream ads and videos, radio spots, public address announcements). Also actively engages in stewardship and handles all phases of fulfillment. Manages specific aspects of game day operations including scripting, promotions, and all on and off field/court entertainment. Collaborates with others in coordination/execution of football pre-game activities and tailgate program. Coordinates the design and production of print advertising, brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials designed to sell advertising and corporate sponsorships. Conducts and assists in conducting market research to identify target markets for use in corporate sponsorship programs. Engages the student body and encourages participation at all athletic events. Promotes events to campus and community through mass media, advertising, viral marketing, direct mail, active public relations, etc. Also promotes department through community events and initiatives. Supervises student worker(s) utilized for marketing and promotions activities and website development, and works alongside Director of Ticket Sales and Operations in ticketing initiatives. Works closely with NCAA Athletic Compliance staff to ensure adherence to all applicable NCAA, Conference and University regulations. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and adheres to applicable NCAA, Conference, University, and departmental rules and regulations. Upon notification of any NCAA violation, reports the violation to the NCAA Compliance Office. Responsible to follow applicable procedures and cooperate fully with any and all investigations of potential violations of NCAA, Conference, University or departmental rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned and works as a cooperative/supportive team member in the UCO Athletic Department.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience that provides extensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results. 7+ years of experience with leading planning, including program development and innovation, program prioritization, and assessment.
  • Extensive knowledge and comprehensive understanding of functional area. Appropriate profession accomplishments and credentials.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Minimum of three years experience in marketing or sales field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communication interpersonal, human relations, public relations and organizational skills. Computer proficiency, preferably in Microsoft Office. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and interact professionally with all segments of the University corporate and general community. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be energetic, creative, and highly motivated.
