Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic self-starter to provide expertise in Audio/Visual (AV) technologies to students, faculty, and the NMH community. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Media Technology Specialist (MTS) serves as the primary resource for campus AV and makes sure that school AV needs are proactively addressed. The MTS facilitates recording, streaming, and editing of AV projects in support of the institution including on-premise, remote, synchronous, and asynchronous events. As a member of the NMH IT team, the MTS covers help desk duties and provides general technical support across campus. This position works closely with the Academic Technologist and NMH IT staff to assist with  multimedia curricular needs using appropriate software, hardware, and tools. 

The successful applicant will have a minimum of five years designing, choosing, installing and configuring audiovisual solutions, and an aptitude for learning new technologies quickly and proactively. 

Responsibilities include delivery of  training and consultation on audio and video production tools and processes, web conferencing and live streaming services and hardware. Ability to manage AV projects in collaboration with other facilities, vendors, engineers, and IT partners required. Proven experience with AV control systems such as Creston, AMX or Extron preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise working with staging, videography, media compression methods, digital asset management, and related platforms (e.g. Kaltura, Ensemble, Vimeo, Adobe Portfolio). The ideal candidates will have ITIL certification and be familiar with Service Management concepts. Experience leading projects at an academic institution strongly preferred.

Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong problem-solving and organizational mindset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products expected.  Occasional night and weekend work required.
