Description: The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) at Cornell University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions, an assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences and an assistant or associate professor in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. At the nexus of two colleges within a premier institution of scientific learning, MBG engages in cutting-edge fundamental and applied biological research to provide world-class education, spark unexpected discoveries and inspire pioneering solutions.

Applications are welcome from candidates whose expertise complements and synergizes with any of the wide range of biological research areas in the department, and who promote interdisciplinary collaborations. For each position, the appointment will be 9-month, tenure-track. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program, to contribute to teaching and mentoring, and to promote an inclusive departmental and campus climate.

 Life sciences research at Cornell is supported by state-of-the-art facilities, robust graduate programs, and a highly interactive and collaborative research culture. The department is in a multi-year period of recruitment, and values diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout its mission. Qualifications: An advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) is required, and productive postdoctoral experience is desirable. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated track record of outstanding research, which is evident in their peer-reviewed publications. Effective communication skills are essential.
