Job Summary:

The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, a brain imaging center, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.

The Research Program Coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert, plan and coordinate the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities for the Developing Brain Imaging Lab, located at the Waisman Center. The Developing Brain Imaging Lab, directed by Dr. Douglas Dean, is focused on research into understanding how the brain develops during early life. This position will primarily be responsible for coordinating administrative, operational, outreach, and promotional activities for a new large-scale national cohort study called the HEALthy Brain and Cognitive Development (HBCD) study, funded by the National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA). This study aims to recruit and longitudinally follow approximately 400 pregnant women and their child throughout the first 10 years of life, and include neuroimaging (MRI and EEG), neurobehavioral assessment, biospecimen collection, and questionnaires. This position will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the multidicplinary research team with these activities.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
A Bachelor's Degree in psychology, biomedical, social science or related field is preferred.

Qualifications:

Three years of demonstrated experience working in a social science, biomedical research or closely related field is required.

Well-qualified applicants will have the following preferred experience:
- 5+ years research experience in social science, biomedical research or closely related field.
- Experience in research project management and supervision.
- Experience working with families, pregnant women, infants, and young children.
- Experience with drafting, submitting, and maintaining Institutional Review Board protocols.
- Experience with neuroimaging modalities, including MRI and EEG, preferrably in infants and children.
- Experience with database management software, such as REDCap, Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Access.
- Experience with office productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience managing budgets and tracking expenses.
- Proactive problem solving and planning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal, organization, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Additional Information:

A Criminal Background Check will be performed.

Must complete HIPAA training and receive certification within the first 5 days of employment and annually thereafter within 5 days of notification.

Reporting requirements must be completed in a timely manner, including but not limited to effort reporting and outside activities reporting.

This position will be required to work occasionally in the evenings and weekend to accommodate schedules for study participants.
