The Clinical Assistant Professor opening is a non-tenure-track 10-month position. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology (clinical, counseling, school) program or provide evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2022. The position will play a critical role in the psychology department and in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program. Primary responsibilities include: (a) teaching undergraduate courses to support the core undergraduate psychology curriculum, (b) teaching graduate courses in the Psychology Department and/or the Clinical Ph.D. Program, (c) clinical administration to support the clinical Ph.D. Program, (d) coordination of external applied placements at the graduate level, and (e) assisting with program initiatives to reduce mental health care disparities in the Hampton Roads community. There is no research requirement for this position. However, there may be opportunities for research collaboration within the department. The position is renewable annually. Candidates should be licensed as a psychologist and/or license eligible in Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities: Applicants must show potential for quality teaching, clinical teaching, and graduate student mentoring.   The successful candidate must have administrative and organizational skills necessary to contribute to administration of the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification: Candidates should be licensed as a psychologist and/or license eligible in Virginia. 
 
Preferred Qualifications: Prior success recruiting and coordinating sites for clinical service provision or clinical training is desirable.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY
ODU’s Psychology Department is in the College of Sciences and includes 30 full-time faculty members, approximately 1400 undergraduate majors, and 75 graduate students. Courses for the undergraduate degree may be taken in person or online. At the graduate level, the department offers a terminal master’s degree in Experimental Psychology and the Ph.D. The doctoral degree has concentrations in Health Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Factors (HFES accredited). Additionally, the Department participates in the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (APA accredited). Faculty research is funded by a diverse portfolio of sources including NSF, NIH, ARI, NASA, DOD, and private corporations.
