Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The primary purpose of the Athletic Trainer is to support the university’s comprehensive sports medical program by being responsible for the recognition, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for injuries that occur to UNCW’s varsity athletes. Provide training coverage to Track & Field and Cross Country teams; advise coaches on return to competition for student-athletes; and demonstrate discretion and sound judgment in working with confidential information and the will-being of the student-athlete.

This is a full-time (with benefits) 11 month position.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree in applicable field from an accredited institution
  • National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board Certification – NATABOC
  • Possession of NC Athletic Training licensure or must acquire within 90 days
  • Professional Rescuer CPR and First Aid certified AED certified
  • Previous experience as athletic trainer at a college/ university
