and nominations for leading nurse scholars to apply for
Associate/Full Professor. The new faculty member
will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research, education,
and service. The successful candidate for this full-time, tenured
faculty position will have a distinguished record of scholarly
nursing research and publications focused on issues related to
urban health. Highly qualified candidates may be considered for an
Endowed Professorship position. The endowment will provide
supplemental support for the scholarly activities of the
- Conduct research in areas of interest consistent with the foci
of the college.
- Maintain a record of scholarly publications in nationally
- Mentor PhD students.
- Prepare, teach, and evaluate assigned courses.
- Use teaching strategies appropriate to learning needs with a
specific focus on PhD courses.
- Participate in College and University committees.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- PhD in nursing, education, or other related area and graduate
degree in nursing.
- Previous teaching experience at baccalaureate or higher degree
- Strong background in PhD nursing education and/or research
- Strong evidence of externally funded research.
- Eligible to hold the rank of Associate Professor or Full
