Admissions/New Student Services invites applications for an Admissions Evaluator I to join their team. We are especially interested in applications from individuals with diverse perspectives and backgrounds. This position will be responsible for all processing activity related to the admission of new undergraduate and non-degree graduates to UM. Processing includes review of applications, evaluating credentials, determining course equivalencies and making acceptance and residency decisions.

The Admissions Evaluator I will have comprehensive knowledge of campus policies and procedures and Board of Regents (BOR) policies; working knowledge of UM academic and student support programs; ability to process all applications for admissions with limited or no supervision; ability to interpret BOR residency policies and make complex residency decisions; ability to prepare residency appeals for submission to the President’s Office; provide support to the Missoula College’s Admission Office; and comprehensive knowledge of Banner.

Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have working knowledge of:
  • The academic programs and services offered at the University of Montana
  • Banner
  • Campus policies, procedures, and organizational structure

Position Details

Position Title: Admissions Evaluator I

Position Number: 005390, 005810

Department: Admissions/New Student Services

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Salary: $14.375/hr - Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department .

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
