About the Position:
The Office of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness leads systematic and integrated efforts to explore the impact of university programs, curricula, services and operations. We provide meaningful data to support strategic planning and decision-making at all levels of the university and we play a critical role in demonstrating accountability to accreditation, external entities and the general public. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Enrollment Planning Specialist (Associate, Academic and Institutional Studies I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Enrollment Planning Specialist is responsible for performing analytical research and projections on University admission and enrollment data to support data-driven decisions across enrollment management. The incumbent maintains and communicates key admission and enrollment information to a wide range of stakeholders at CSUF, and collaborates with diverse offices (e.g. Office of Admissions, IT, colleges, and departments) to facilitate important enrollment management decisions. This position reports to the Director of Institutional Research and is a core member of the enrollment planning workgroup within the Office of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (OAIE). The Enrollment Planning Specialist will build collaborative partnerships with the campus community to enhance operational efficiencies in support of a student-centered philosophy within an integrated enrollment services environment. The Enrollment Planning Specialist will cleanse and organize a large quantity of data in preparation for trend analysis and enrollment projections, create and execute complex queries from multiple data sources to curate enrollment data, and maintain a series of dashboards to communicate information to campus users. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years of progressively responsible administrative or professional experience which is applicable to the functional area in which the studies are to be conducted or which has demonstrated the ability to perform, or the potential to rapidly learn and apply complex survey techniques and analytical reporting or the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in a four-year college or university; or the rank of Instructor for at least two years in a recognized college or university, and demonstrated experience in research or special study work may be substituted for the three years of experience. Working knowledge of administrative survey principles and techniques and skill in their application; general knowledge of principles of organization, administration and management; working knowledge of statistical methods. Ability to analyze administrative problems and to make appropriate recommendations; ability to speak and write effectively; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of academic and community resources.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Quantitative Research or related field/discipline. Prior experiences in enrollment management (e.g. Admissions, Enrollment Management), Institutional Research, Quantitative research, or related field in higher education settings. Familiarity with standardized CSU coding schemes and data files.
