Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
The position is the primary contact for students participating in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant program.
  • Provide direct customer service to applicants by interviewing and collecting eligibility documents from interested parties for appropriate employment and training services.
  • Perform case management duties by documenting and tracking services and activities provided to program participants using Ellucian Banner and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security's Eligible Training Provider List System(ETPL).
  • Responsible for the disbursement and reconciliation of grant payments to grantee student accounts.
  • Submits annual certifications and re-certifications of eligible programs.
  • Serves as the University's liaison to the state of Mississippi WIN Job Centers, other WIOA service providers, bookstore, etc.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal regulations and guidance, and state and local administrative guidelines and policies governing the WIOA program.
  • Develops marketing materials and strategies for successful recruitment and retention of program participants.

    The position also performs the following functions within Student Business Services.
  • Interfaces with collection agencies and students regarding student account receivables assigned to the University's various collection agencies.
  • Post all payments received from collection agencies for outstanding accounts.
  • Completes daily close out reconciliation of all University cashier sessions.
  • Assist the Director in the preparation, dissemination, and explanations of 1098T forms.
  • Responsible for documenting and reposting all returned student direct deposits.
  • Routinely settles all automated ACH files.
  • Settles all automated eRefunds on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinates correspondence between students and bankruptcy court
  • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    BA in Accounting or business related field with three to four years of experience working with the public. Ability to interact and communicate with diverse populations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent customer service skills.BA in Accounting or business related field. Ability to interact and communicate with diverse populations. Excellent customer service skills.BA in Accounting or business related field and three to five years experience working with the public. Experience operating MDES’s ETPL system, Ellucian’s Banner, and Touchnet software platforms. Two to three years experience working in student support services.

    Salary:
    12 monthCommensurate with experience and qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Preferred Qualifications:
    BA in Accounting or business related field and three to five years experience working with the public. Experience operating MDES’s ETPL system, Ellucian’s Banner, and Touchnet software platforms. Two to three years experience working in student support services.
