Job Description

Tenure-track position with prior experience at the Assistant Professor level in the area of decision theory, behavioral economics and game theory. Responsibilities with a regular appointment include interdisciplinary instruction, curriculum development, and strong demonstrated and continued scholarly research. Instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be in both the Economics and Behavioral Decision Sciences programs at Virginia Tech with a focus on transdisciplinary courses, especially in the intersection of Economics and Psychology. Curriculum development will include making significant contributions to instruction and the development of current and new courses, development of curriculum enhancements and innovative pedagogy. Continued development of professional capabilities and participation in scholarly activities is a must and includes travel to and participation in professional conferences and societies, as well as participation in department, college, and university service and governance and professional service. Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Economics at time of appointment
- Prior experience at the Assistant Professor level
- Demonstrated significant scholarship with a strong publication record
- Demonstrated experience teaching transdisciplinary courses
- Demonstrated work in curriculum development
- Demonstrated scholarly expertise in one or more of the areas of decision theory, behavioral economics or game theory
- Position requires occasional travel to attend conferences and meetings
