Position Summary:
As a member of the Technology Support team, this position works to support the students, faculty and staff of Pacific Northwest College of Art, one of the schools within Willamette University, with timely and effective technical assistance in a broad range of topics related to PC, Mac and iOS hardware and software. Maintains and supports the academic and administrative client computer systems by maintaining an effective and professional delivery of support to the end-user client base. Provides equipment checkout services to faculty, students and staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide client services and assistance to faculty, staff, and students regarding computer and application use.
  • Research case-by-case solutions to functional problems.
  • Maintain and upgrade computer hardware and software systems throughout campus.
  • Diagnose, fix, and test hardware solutions.
  • Checkout technology equipment to faculty, students and staff.
  • Maintain functionality and cleanliness of computer labs.
  • Maintain functionality of campus printer / copiers.
  • Collaborate directly with Technology Staff on related projects.
  • Provide engaging and effective training using a variety of technologies and delivery systems.
  • Contribute to the Technology community's knowledge-base through research, projects, and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with Mac and PC based computers, including a thorough understanding of operating systems, and commonly deployed software, like Adobe Creative Cloud, Office and more.
  • Experience with networking, internet access, hardware / software troubleshooting and systems configuration.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both advanced and entry-level clients.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in an institution of Higher Education or creative environment.
  • Experience with audio and video production equipment and software.
  • Basic experience with a scripting language (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Understanding of hardware and peripherals in a design, multimedia, and audio/video production environment.


Typical Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Able to lift and carry fragile equipment, regularly weighing up to 20 lbs and occasionally weighing up to 50 lbs.

Salary: $18.98 per hour
