Job Description: The School of Kinesiology announces the availability of a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Biomechanics with a commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly productivity, and service. The appointment will be effective August 15, 2022.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or a related field and possess a willingness to work with other faculty on collaborative projects. Expectations of the ideal candidate include the ability to develop an externally funded research program which will complement the current research foci of the faculty members in motor behavior and kinesiology. Candidates must possess an aptitude to teach undergraduate classes in biomechanics and graduate courses related to their expertise. Desired abilities also include the aptitude to teach motor learning, motor development, and/or neuromotor control. Additional responsibilities include mentoring graduate students and performing professional service to the university, community, and profession. Preferred qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with current external funding and/or post-doctoral experience with a research focus that is both unique and augments current faculty research foci, such as motor behavior/biomechanics across the life span, motor behavioral/biomechanical aspects of physical training and/or safety, assistive robotics, and/or rehabilitation.

 

Responsibilities:  (1) Conduct scholarly research; (2) teach undergraduate and graduate classes; (3) advise graduate students; (4) direct theses and dissertations; (5) seek external support for scholarly activities aimed at building an externally funded research program; and (6) perform service to the school, college, university, and profession.

 

Rank:  Assistant Professor.

 

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
