Job Description:

The School of the Arts is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to teach a course in Principles and Foundations of Not-for-Profit Fundraising during the 2022 spring semester. The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen to teach at Dean College create a compelling and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds.

We are seeking an adjunct instructor to teach AMGT 305: Principles and Foundations of Not-for-Profit Fundraising for students in our Arts and Entertainment Management and our Business programs. This is a 3-credit course which meets once a week for 3 hours, OR twice a week for 75 minutes. OR three times a week for 50 minutes. The adjunct pay rate is $3,200.00/section. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The School of the Arts provides a course charter with course objectives and learning outcomes and sample syllabi. All faculty will be expected to make active use of the learning management system Canvas at least at a minimum level established by the College.

The course description is as follows:

AMGT 305:  Principles and Foundations of Not-for-Profit Fundraising - This course includes the study of psychological and sociological aspects of fundraising with an emphasis on the practical application of and techniques used for successful fundraising. Areas of study will include development/setting of fundraising targets, practical research and data management, creation, and implementation of a fundraising plan, including different styles of funding campaigns, donation management, and earned income generation including individual, corporate, foundation and government funding. The class will also focus on basic tax and legal issues related to fundraising, including NFP incorporation, IRS tax status, report requirements and legal/ethical matters related to donations, grants, sponsorships, and capital campaigns.

Requirements:

  • A Master's Degree in a related field, required;
  • Successful record of Not-for-Profit fundraising, required;
  • Experience teaching at the college level both in person and online, required;
  • Strong computer skills, required;
  • Ability and willingness to be responsive and supportive to students through college online resources and digital tools, required;
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Canvas, our learning management system, and classroom media, required;
  • Expertise in learner-centered teaching, required;
  • Experience using technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy, required;
  • Experience and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body with a variety of learning styles, required;
  • COVID-19 Vaccination, required.
