The Senior Director of Corporate Relations works closely with the Executive Director and Corporate and Foundation Relations ( CFR ) team, and campus colleagues to provide leadership on the development and implementation of strategies for corporate support vis-à-vis Syracuse’s strengths, priorities and the Academic Strategic Plan. S/he manages the corporate relations team which solicits a portfolio of complex and diverse corporate prospects for research, philanthropic and other support and provides quality stewardship to promote long-term relationships with the University. The Senior Director reports to the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and oversees two Directors of Corporate Relations providing strategic guidance on process, approaches, and cultivation and solicitation of corporate prospects for gifts, grants and in-kind support as well as campus wide holistic management of corporate accounts. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years of successful and progressive experience in major gift fund-raising, preferably in a college setting. Candidates with solid fund-raising experience in non-academic organizations or comparable professional experience that demonstrate an aggressive and successful track record of identifying and cultivating corporate prospects and closing solicitations are also encouraged.
A valid driver’s license is required. Job Specific Qualifications

Responsibilities
Serve as the single focal point of contact for the needs of university corporate partners and facilitate the necessary connections on campus to maximize partner benefits. Move corporate partners along a continuum of engagement ranging from a single point of engagement to a strategic partnership, as appropriate, to broaden and deepen relationships and generate resources for the University. These campus connections include direct work with Deans, distinguished researchers and includes the Provost. Record all interactions in Citrus as well as develop, manage and maintain plans, opportunities and key data and information records.

Collaborate successfully with schools, colleges, and development colleagues across all the Syracuse University schools, colleges and units to translate academic programs and projects into a holistic catalog of opportunities for corporate support related to talent, research, continuing/executive education and business and vendor relationships that can be utilized by corporate relations team to advance the university forward and advance the corporate relations program

Manage a dynamic portfolio of 25 to30 key corporate prospects and secure new levels of institutional support and engagement through grants, sponsored research, recruitment, philanthropy, curriculum support, corporate executive participation, in-kind support, joint approaches to funding sources and the like. This portfolio includes C-suite executives, executive board members and/or corporate CFO /CEOs.

Manage performance metrics and priorities for corporate relations team providing guidance on industry focus, cultivation and solicitation strategies and donor processes capable of producing new corporate gifts, grants, student support, talent pipeline, diversity support, as well as research, while ensuring accurate and timely updates to data management tracking systems

Assist faculty, deans and other internal constituents with corporate strategies, project development, proposal submission, and stewardship methods. Physical Requirements Tools/Equipment Application Instructions
