The Office of Academic Services & Advising invites applications for a part-time Academic Success Coach (ASC) to support students through the end of the academic year. This is a part-time appointment for approximately 20-25 hours per week.

As a member of a dynamic student-centered team, Academic Success Coaches provide intrusive academic support for undergraduate students at Stonehill College, with a particular focus on students deemed at-risk and/or on academic probation. Joining a growing team in Academic Services, the ASC will work with students to develop skills needed to be successful at Stonehill College. The ASC will work with students one-on-one and in groups to support their success both inside and out of the classroom, leveraging innovative strategies and coaching techniques to engage students, connect them to campus resources, and facilitate their development and academic success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working with students to develop time management, organization, and writing skills.
  • Teaching study skills and test-taking strategies both individually and in a group setting.
  • Meeting with students individually to create and track success plans and improve executive functioning skills.
  • Serving as an academic coach for a cohort of undergraduate students.
  • Referring students of concern to the appropriate resource.
  • Creating and implementing seminars, materials, and workshops addressing student success.
  • Supporting the Academic Services & Advising Team through drop-in hour coverage, providing administrative support, and data collection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work includes evening hours as needed for department events, classes, presentations, or other College events.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online presentation tools (e.g. Prezi, Canva, PowerPoint) is required. Experience in an educational, tutoring, or teaching environment is strongly preferred.
