The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota is currently seeking two faculty members to join our nationally acclaimed and internationally renowned department. We are hiring assistant/associate professors in the research division, which is within the 3rd most NIH-funded family medicine department nationally. Applicants for both positions must have a PhD or equivalent in health, mental health/behavioral medicine, public health, or related field, or MD/DO with board certification in Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics. 

Hires will be at an Assistant Professor (tenure track) and/or an Associate Professor (tenured) level, depending upon qualifications. Candidates seeking the rank of Tenured Associate Professor must have an established academic track record commensurate with this rank and the ability to qualify for appointment as an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

The selected candidates will assume major responsibility for overseeing their own independent and externally funded, ongoing health-related research projects. Work effort will include preparing new grant proposals, securing independent research funding, publications, as well as clinical and/or teaching effort within an affiliated primary care clinic. 

Additional responsibilities include:

    Participating in departmental and Program in Health Disparities Research projects and programs Teaching graduate level students, medical residents, and post-doctoral fellows in medicine, mental health/behavioral health, public health, and other related fields.
