Job Description:

The University of Saint Joseph invites applications for two tenure track, 9 month, Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies. The positions are scheduled to begin in August 2022. The successful candidate will join a learning community where student relationships and diversity, equity, and inclusion are valued. This individual will teach in our CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs and will engage in scholarly work and service to the Department, University, and community. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to an outcome-oriented curriculum designed to prepare students for competent counseling practice. Candidates with Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies is a vibrant and collegial group of faculty and students.  The department houses three graduate programs and has more than 100 students enrolled. It is located within the School of Interdisciplinary Health and Science.

 


Requirements:

  • Completion of an earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education preferably from a CACREP accredited program or ABD by the starting date
  • A scholarly agenda and teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
  • Recent clinical experience
  • Licensed/Certified or eligible as an LPC or School Counselor in Connecticut
  • Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
  • Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

 


Additional Information:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $56,000-$63,000 ($56,000-$60,000 for Assistant Professor; $58,000-$63,000 Associate Professor). The final offer will be based on the successful candidate's qualification and experience.
