The University of Saint Joseph invites applications for two Full-time Tenure Track/ Non Tenure Track faculty position (9-month) in the Department of Nursing. 

Nursing, Assistant/Associate Professor 

The first search is for a certified nurse practitioner and have a strong background in teaching and scholarship as well as demonstrated clinical expertise. The ideal candidate will use evidence-based best practices in support of the education of future nurses and graduate students. The candidate will contribute to the curriculum and employ classroom, clinical, and online teaching for undergraduate and graduate students.

This position requires:

  • Earned doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, EdD or DNP) is preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the state of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching in academic nursing programs is preferred with experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience with developing/ teaching graduate programs in nursing
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession of Nursing.
  • Developing or continuing an active program of scholarship
  • Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
  • Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

 

Nursing, Assistant/Associate Professor (Psychiatric Mental Health)

The second search is for a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and have a strong background in teaching and scholarship as well as demonstrated clinical expertise.  Demonstrated leadership is desirable.

The ideal candidate will use evidence-based best practices in support of the education of future nurses and graduate students. The candidate will contribute to the curriculum and employ classroom, clinical, and online teaching for undergraduate and graduate students.

This position requires:

  • Earned doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, EdD or DNP) is preferred.
  • In-depth experience with community, residential and acute care environments.
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the state of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching in pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs is preferred with curriculum development.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession of Nursing.
  • Developing or continuing an active program of scholarship
  • Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
  • Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation


Additional Information:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $63,000-$81,000 ($63,000-$76,000 for Assistant Professor; $73,000-$81,000 Associate Professor). The final offer will be based on the successful candidate's qualification and experience.
