Summary
VCU School of Medicine's Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety is hiring for a newly created position of Operations Specialist. The medical simulation center allows medical learners to have practice and hands-on time that may not otherwise be able to receive in a clinical environment. The Operations Specialist will provide vital support to ensure seamless center operations and the very best learner experiences. The position will provide administrative, logistical, operational, and technical support.
Typical Duties
- Support and assist with planning/organizing, set up, and tear down of simulation sessions and virtual events
- Assist with administering and managing the tracking of FLS and FES exams
- Support Surgical Educator with various planning and logistics with surgical courses
- Generate accounts for FES Didactics and Robotics Modules and track resident progress
- Collaborate with simulation technologists, education specialists, and program coordinator
- Create and maintain databases; assist with providing data for invoicing and other activities
- Assist with fiscal activities to include updating spreadsheets, tracking revenue and expenses and reporting balances
- Assist with annual report data and reaccreditation activities
- Perform other related administrative duties as needed
- Previous project management or coordination experience
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple, overlapping events
- Must be able to lift approximately 100 pounds assisted and/or 50 pounds independently
- Medical Simulation experience
- Experience working with medical students and faculty
- Knowledge of medical terminology and/or previous medical
experience preferred.
