Massey Cancer Center is seeking a Team Science Research Projects Manager who will manage multiple federally funded team science projects and assist with the development of new team science projects. This individual will act as the primary point of contact in the communication and coordination among study partners, which frequently include multiple academic institutions, and she/he/they will assure the timely implementation and evaluation of all research and/or educational activities related to the projects.

Typical Duties

Establishes and implements short- and long-range study timelines, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. This will be in conjunction with appropriate leaders (Center Leaders, Principal Investigators, Project Steering Committee Members, and External Advisory Board Members).

Coordinates project meetings and retreats, conducts day-to-day project-related operations, oversees and maintains IRB and IACUC protocols, assists with grant and project budgeting,

Oversees and coordinates the preparation of progress reports.

Typical Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a science, health profession, or management area of study and 5-7 years direct experience working in an academic research-focused environment in a science or health profession. Advanced degree in a science, health profession, or management area of study preferred. Experience in multi-plexed project management essential. Computer skills including MS Office products and general computer proficiency required. Excellent English skills (both verbal and written), organizational skills, time management, prioritizing tasks, detail-oriented and multi-tasking required. Experience with cancer or health-related research is preferred.
