Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Aid Counselor will join a team of Financial Aid Professionals servicing both undergraduate and graduate students at Eastern Kentucky University. The position will actively serve students and their families through financial aid related services. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders and support and utilize software. In addition, this position will assist in developing and implementing specific policies, programs, and services to ensure funds are properly communicated, awarded, disbursed, and accurately reconciled.

Minimum Education:
-Bachelor’s degree required
-Master’s preferred

Three years of related experience required

Job Functions:
Advise and counsel prospective and current students and families on policy and processes, unique circumstances for individual applicants, and options for funding a college education.
Implement and manage new technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business communications and operations by supporting One Stop Shop, Banner Self-Service, Strategic Communications, etc.
Management of financial aid programs through implementation and review of daily operations, including but not limited to, financial awards, missing/incomplete information, academic progress, appeals, profile adjustments, audits, documentation, reconciliat
Enhance the business operations, communication, and collaboration with students and other stakeholders regarding financial assistance for related focus areas.
Develop and interpret Financial Aid policies and procedures essential to the successful implementation and administration of collaborative student services.
Collaborate with university stakeholders for programming, visits, and events; demonstrate exceptional professionalism, as well as excellence in customer service, collaboration, cross-training and performance.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
