POSITION: Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice in PreK-12 Educational Leadership in the Division of Educational Leadership at the University of South Dakota School of Education

Job Description: 
The Division of Educational Leadership at the University of South Dakota School of Education seeks applicants for a Professor of Practice faculty position in PreK-12 Educational Leadership at the assistant or associate level. 

The successful candidate will provide leadership in the department’s PreK-12 or K-20 Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) program area; teach master’s, specialist, and doctoral courses in hybrid and online formats; engage in an active research and publication agenda and grant writing; demonstrate ability to connect teaching, research and service to leadership practice in the field; serve as dissertation chair and committee member for doctoral students; and provide service to the university, community, and profession.   Finally, the successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team engaged in service to schools and PreK-20 educational scholarship with a focus on improvement science. The division is committed to inclusive excellence and addressing issues of access for PreK-20 learners. We believe that the university community is part of a global and complex world. The Division of Educational Leadership is a member of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) program and is currently offering master’s and Educational Specialist degrees (fully online) and an Educational Doctorate degree with PreK-12 and Adult & Higher Education Concentrations (hybrid format).   Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess an earned Ed.D. or Ph.D. from an appropriately accredited institution in Educational Leadership or a related field by August 22, 2022 and have successful experience as a PreK-12 school leader. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent oral and written communication skills; the capacity for outstanding teaching, research and service potential; a commitment to innovative and transformative leadership; demonstrated experience with and commitment to opportunities for all; and the ability to collaborate and contribute as a team member.   THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA: The University of South Dakota is a comprehensive; liberal arts based state institution with an enrollment of over 10,000 students. SCHOOL OF EDUCATION:
The School of Education is organized into five basic Divisions: Curriculum and Instruction; Teacher Residency and Education; Educational Leadership; Counseling and Psychology in Education; and Kinesiology & Sport Management. Graduate work is available through the doctorate in several program areas. The Education unit is accredited/approved by CAEP, NCA, CACREP, NASP, and the South Dakota Department of Education.
