POSITION: Assistant or Associate Professor in the
School Psychology Program within the Division of Counseling and
Psychology in Education in the School of Education.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The school psychology program
announces one tenure-track assistant or associate professor
position for their NASP-accredited Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs. This
strong program which resides in beautiful Vermillion, SD prides
itself on their team-based ecological approach to training future
school psychologists. Primary responsibilities include teaching
graduate courses, mentoring Ed.S. and Ph.D. students, supervising
practicum students, conducting research and service, and applying
for external funding. Additional teaching assignments may be made
based on professional and academic background and the needs of the
Division. Faculty members are expected to make contributions in
teaching, research, and service, including mentoring students in
and out of the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires an earned doctorate by
August 2022 in school psychology. Applicants must show evidence of
accomplishments or strong potential for success in teaching,
research leading to publication, grant writing, and professional
service. Preference will be given to those graduating from NASP- or
APA-accredited programs with specialization that augments current
program strengths especially experience in field research, and/or
behavior analysis. We strongly encourage applicants that are
eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the state of SD and/or
certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We
especially encourage applicants whose research, teaching,
mentoring, and/or service will contribute to our principle of
