Position Title Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications Overview
Collaborate with staff Academic Affairs and other departments on strategies and creative executions that support strategic objectives, including initiatives related to engaging alumni, capturing the interest of prospective student families, and continually motivating them to choose Providence College, advancement efforts of various kinds, internal communications, and other strategic imperatives. Essential Duties:
1. Express the College’s brand identity and enhance its storytelling effectiveness through written communications including emails, websites, video scripts, and print collateral. Advise collaborators in conceptualizing, constructing, and executing campaigns involving print collateral, website communications, mass email messaging, video, and other digital content, and social media to support major initiatives.
2. Provide strategic and data-based recommendations to enhance critical institutional marketing efforts. Ensure high-quality, targeted, and coordinated messaging rooted in the College’s strategic priorities; work to continually integrate and express the College’s brand identity. Develop and coordinate effective, multi-channel, integrated marketing communications campaigns devised to influence constituent group behavior. Manage and develop relationships with collaborators to ensure a sustained focus on strategic priorities and brand consistency.
3. Write and develop copy that will motivate an end-user to take the desired action, specifically for high-profile College initiatives including the ongoing recruitment of students, the need for effective internal communications, and alumni engagement. Apply creativity, social media proficiency, and multimedia storytelling skills to create persuasive, effective, innovative campaigns that help the College achieve strategic goals through external and internal support.
Collaborate with the internal communications team. Oversee the creation of digital print content; and coordinate, prioritize, edit, and facilitate all communications related to solicitations, news, and events. Develop messaging/marketing strategies and content that allow the College to improve and optimize communications with key constituent groups. Provide a creative voice and vital support for the voluminous writing and digital production efforts necessary to support the efforts of a high-functioning marketing and communications operation. Marginal Duties:

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
- Minimum of three years experience in marketing communications or journalism, higher education experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of educations and experience required
- Demonstrated experience in creating print and digital (including email and web) pieces that serve as elements of integrated messaging campaigns and initiatives
- Superb writing and editing skills, applicable to both print and digital formats
- A high level of creativity, exemplified by the ability to conceptualize and create successful multi-channel, coordinated communications campaigns

- An evolving fluency in social media, Word Press, and other digital communications channels
- A passion for storytelling and the mission of Providence College, with an understanding of brand standards and guidelines in marketing messages
