The Professional MBA program at the University Of Utah David Eccles School Of Business is seeking a talented, energetic professional to provide recruiting and admissions support in a fast-paced, professional, customer-focused, and results-driven environment. Reporting to the Manager, the Recruiting Coordinator will collaborate with recruiting, admissions, and marketing staff to drive enrollment growth for the Professional MBA program by developing and executing recruitment strategies and building relationships with individuals and corporations. The position requires extensive phone, email, and in-person interaction with prospective students, along with current students, alumni, faculty, vendors, and other School and University staff. This person must have strong communication, customer service, and project management skills, be an effective team player and an excellent organizer capable of handling multiple tasks, projects, and relationships at one time.

COMPENSATION:             18 to 24 / h

 

WORK SCHEDULE:           Monday through Friday, with some evenings and occasional weekends required to support recruiting events or evening classes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admissions and Recruiting:

  • Significant interpersonal communication with prospective students over the phone, as well as in-person and through e-mail
  • Discuss program details with prospective students through outbound and inbound phone calls
  • Meet one-on-one with candidates to discuss their specific concerns and needs, mentoring and advising candidates on an academic path that best fits their situation
  • Maintain accurate records and files through the CRM system (Salesforce). This includes professional and academic details about the candidate and logging all interactions (in-person meetings, phone calls, and e-mails)
  • Consistently follow up and stay connected with those who have expressed interes tin pursuing their MBA

The primary role of the job is recruiting and admissions, but may help with student services as follows:

Student Advising

  • Develop relationships with prospective and current students, engaging throughout their professional MBA program
  • Utilizing a holistic approach, conduct in-person and virtual one-on-one advising at assigned times throughout the year
  • Maintain student academic files that include a record of the advising activity
  • Leverages technology platforms such as Salesforce and Slack to support students.
  • Promotes resources to benefit student success

Faculty Support and Class Support

  • Leverages technology platforms such as Canvas to support faculty
  • Coordinates quality PMBA class nights by making appropriate arrangements for the faculty and arranging logistics for the students. Responsibilities include interacting with PMBA students, supporting faculty before and during class days with academic needs, IT and equipment needs, catering (snack and dinner nights), and a willingness to perform all necessary tasks required to provide students with a world-class experience

Events

  • Work with Student Services team to facilitate new student onboarding processes and retention strategy to keep new admits engaged and prepared to start the program.
  • Support PMBA events (PMBA alumni events, graduation, and recruiting events)
  • Participate in recruitment activities virtually or in-person

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in a related area; one year of experience in career services, human resources, working in a campus environment or post college experience; a basic knowledge of employment policies, legal constraints and interviewing techniques; and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and effective communication skills required. The ability to manage time and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks are also required. A degree in a related area may include human resources, behavioral sciences, business or other relevant field.

 

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in executing recruitment programs at a university, college, or company
  • Knowledge of general business management curriculum, including familiarity withother institutions’ courses and programs
