Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Professor of Instruction in Organic Chemistry

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY - The Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University is hiring an Open-Rank Professor of Instruction in Organic Chemistry to serve as a member of our teaching track (non-tenure track) faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for functions related to teaching, advising, scholarly activity, and contributions to the department's ACS-accredited chemistry program. The candidate will participate in teaching assistant training and mentoring, evaluating the academic progress of students, developing valid assessments of student learning in undergraduate chemistry courses, and performing other administrative duties as required. Responsibilities could also include developing inquiry-based experiments and other approaches to improve student learning and persistence in laboratory and lecture courses. Applicants must have completed a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a related field, must have demonstrated excellence in teaching lecture and/or laboratory courses, and have an interest in advancing and publishing educational innovations. This position is a full-time, benefits eligible, 9-month, continuing faculty position with an initial appointment of three years.
