Assistant Professor of Teacher Education
Huntingdon College’s Department
of Teacher Education invites applications for a
tenure track Assistant Professor position, beginning no
later than August 2022.
Responsibilities/Qualifications: Candidates must hold a terminal
degree in Elementary Education (preferred) or a terminal
degree in Education AND 30 hours of graduate-level
courses in Elementary Education (required) . A minimum of
three years of K-6 teaching experience is required. The successful
candidate will be responsible for teaching courses such as methods
in elementary (Methods of Teaching Elementary Math, Science, etc.),
and content area literacy. AMSTI and LETRS training will be a plus
for hire consideration. The faculty member may also supervise
interns and practicum students. The candidate must exhibit
potential for teaching excellence, knowledge of emerging trends in
the field, and a working knowledge of how students learn. Evidence
of scholarly productivity is also required. Faculty may be required
to teach evening classes as well as online and hybrid
courses.
