A postdoctoral associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Robert McKenna, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, for one year and may extend to two years. The research will be focused on the biophysical and molecular characterization of ssDNA viruses for the treatment of genetic disorders, specifically, Adeno-associated virus (AAV). This study is funded by a NIH grant.

Responsibilities include:
- Plan, conduct, and document experiments independently; evaluate and interpret data with guidance.
- Scientific writing and presentation skills, manuscript preparation, and formal seminars.

Looking for Candidates with:
- Experience with AAV parvovirus biology.
- Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
- Experience in culturing mammalian and insect cell lines.
- Experience in biophysical techniques.
- Self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual.

Required:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, or related field.

Preferred:
Experience in working with AAV would be an advantage.
