Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join the Business Center, a unit within UFIT. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist for UFIT delivers excellent service and is primarily responsible for talent acquisition, onboarding, projects and a broad range of transactions. This position will assist in making sure that all employees are recruited, hired and paid in a timely manner and in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

  • Communicates and interprets human resources policies and procedures for managers and employees.

Expected Salary:

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a current Human Resources professional with the following:
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft as it relates to HR transactions, Enterprise Analytics, payroll and PageUp as it relates to Talent Acquisition
  • Understand and provide excellent customer service through professional and courteous interactions with internal and external stakeholders while meeting business needs
  • Possess a professional demeanor which is conveyed in all interactions, communications and appearance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent judgement and decision making
  • Competency in problem solving
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented approach and mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
To be successful in this position, the selected candidate must:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding communicator; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • Knowledge of labor relations and employment law
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
