The starting faculty salary range is $58,157 – $66,736 for a 1.0 FTE, 168-day, academic year contract. This position will also have 32 additional discretionary days. Continuation of extra days beyond 168 is at the discretion of the college. Salary will be prorated for the remaining days in the contract. LBCC offers a comprehensive benefit package.

This position is subject to Article 31 of the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the event of a reduction in force, this position may be afforded less protection than non-Article 31 faculty. For more detailed information, please review the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The successful candidate will be required to submit official transcripts within 30 days of their hire date.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.

LBCC is an Equal Opportunity Educator and Employer. Position Title: Parenting Education Faculty Division/Department: Family Connections Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:
The Family Resource and Education Center faculty works to create high quality education programming that aligns with the college’s mission, vision and process in the Parenting Education and Family Connections Departments. This position oversees the Parent-Child Parenting Education Program including recruiting and training part-time Parenting Education faculty, and developing community relationships in the pursuit and coordination of off campus class sites. Works with community partners with the goal of developing high quality resources and programming to support the region’s families. Supports the implementation of the Pollywog referral system in partnership with the Early Learning Hub. Assignment requires outreach to the community and coordination of various programs, which includes year-round work, as well as some evening, late afternoon and off-campus work. Required Qualifications:
Masters in Human Development, Family Studies, Education or related field, and experience working with families and young children within a family support/counseling program is required. Experience teaching parenting education. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children (birth – 6 years of age). Experience promoting equity and inclusion practices in the workplace. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience writing and implementing grants. Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and knowledge of and experience in community collaborations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to work with staff and students.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:
Parenting Education

  • Develop, maintain, and provide oversight for quality parenting education in all aspects of programming.




  • Ensure quality in programming through involvement in outcomes, satisfaction assessments, and continuous quality improvement activities.


  • Support the development of the faculty teaching parent-child classes through the coordination of high quality professional development opportunities, communities of practice and access to resources.


  • Provide regular in-service on commonly experienced parenting and family issues.


  • Make research-based, best practice parenting resources accessible in a culturally relevant and timely manner, including Hispanic language materials.


  • Maintain competency in parenting education philosophy, trends, and policy.


  • Provide leadership for the annual Family Fun Day. Identify appropriate funding sources and prepare proposals and applications.


  • Recruit participants from the parent-child parenting education programming to serve on the Parenting Education Advisory Committee. Utilize advisory committee feedback to inform program decisions.


  • With the Regional Director, participate in the recruitment and selection of faculty and staff. Work with supervisor to facilitate the day-to-day parent-child classes offered by part-time faculty and participate in the performance review process.


Family Connections

  • Serve as the liaison between the LBCC Early Childhood Education program and the Child Care Resource and Referral program. Facilitate the development of career to college pathways for Early Care and Education providers.


  • Recruit Early Learning Providers to serve on the Child Care Workforce Training Advisory Committee. Utilize advisory committee feedback to inform program decisions.


  • Remain current on state and federal government changes affecting childhood care and education programming.


  • Ensure high quality educational programming for the Early Care and Education workforce.


  • Write grants and develop other diverse resources to maintain, enhance, and leverage Family Connections services and outreach to the community.


  • Support Family Connections staff providing personalized referrals as a part of the Pollywog program. Serve on the Pollywog Implementation team.


  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential community partners.


  • Participate in department and college committees as assigned.
