The University of St. Thomas Department of Economics invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in September 2022.

We seek applications from candidates in the areas of health, environmental, or behavioral economics; candidates with a concentration in health or related fields will be given some preference. In addition to sharing in the teaching of Principles of Microeconomics, the successful candidate may teach courses in microeconomic theory or econometrics, as well as undergraduate courses related to the candidate’s area(s) of interest. The typical teaching load consists of 3 courses (2 preparations) per semester in a small-class setting. The department seeks candidates who are committed to high quality undergraduate instruction (including engaging students in research), and a productive research agenda.

The University of St. Thomas embraces diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all. Our convictions of dignity, diversity and personal attention call us to embody and champion a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.  We welcome applicants of diverse races, ethnicities, geographic origins, gender identities, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, religions, work experience, physical and intellectual abilities, and financial means. We are committed to building a faculty that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. This commitment is consistent with our mission: Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to think critically, act wisely, and work skillfully to advance the common good. In keeping with this commitment, the Department of Economics continues to seek to attract, retain, and develop faculty from all backgrounds to enhance the diversity of our learning community, and to offer students richly varied perspectives.
