Position Summary:
The Arkansas State University Department of Art + Design seeks
applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track instructor position in
Game Design and/or Mobile Development Programming beginning in the
year 2022. The primary needs are curriculum development and
teaching both on campus (Jonesboro, AR) and online courses within
the Digital Technology and Design Degree. We seek candidates with a
strong commitment to teaching excellence, student
retention/recruiting and dedication to promoting program growth and
enrollment.
A-State is one of the two largest residential universities in the
state, with over 10,000 students. It is located in Jonesboro, a
city of 74,000, 65 miles northwest of Memphis, Tennessee. A-State

Duties & Responsibilities:
- 4/4 teaching load including foundational, intermediate, and advanced game design, mobile programming and/or virtual reality courses as needed.
- The position does not require advising, research, or service-related activities.
- Curriculum development within one or more of these areas: Game Design, Mobile Programming and/or Virtual Reality Design & Development
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required or applicable to the
position responsibilities and area of specialization, including
special abilities
Demonstrable game design skills
Working knowledge of contemporary topics surrounding game design
and theory
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in one of the following: Game Design, Mobile
Development Programming, Web Development, Digital Art, New Media,
Computer Science or other related field
• Master’s degree awarded by the position’s start date
• Demonstrable proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, Unity, Unreal, 2D
animation, sprite design and/or other related software for game
design and development
Preferred Qualifications:
• Programming experience in XCode/Swift, Android Studio/Kotlin, or
other related languages for mobile/web design and development
• Proficiency in a design related field and the ability to
incorporate these skills in the classroom
• University-level teaching experience
