Position Summary:

The Executive Assistant in the Office of the Campus CEO reports directly to and works under the direction of the Campus CEO providing him/her with managerial, administrative, professional, and confidential assistance as required to ensure the successful operation of the office and the college. Depending upon size, organizational structure and the stage of development of the college, the Executive Assistant in the Office of the Campus CEO may perform any combination of the functions described below.

Incumbents must possess a proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Academic training in business or office administration equivalent to an Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in administrative or executive secretarial fields.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
  • Experience in the operation of personal computers using standard word processing and related office software.
  • Experience applying the principles of secretarial practice with an emphasis on the quality production of correspondence and reports.
  • Experience in office administration including materials and records organization, scheduling, and operating efficiency.
  • Experience applying the principles and methods of effective and cordial public contact and service.
  • A proven history of maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Experience utilizing the methods and techniques of operating in an office environment requiring organizational dignity.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Administrative Professional or other professional certification.
  • Three (3) or more years' experience serving as an administrative assistant or higher.
  • Experience providing administrative support to a director level or higher administrator.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field .
  • Three (3) or more years of experience preparing and managing budgets.
  • Professional work experience in higher education.
  • Professional work experience in customer service and/or community relations.
  • Bilingual or multilingual.
Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the CEO, the Executive Assistant is the College and Intra-collegiate Liaison and is accountable for Personnel Functions, Budget Preparation, Report Preparation, Technical Assistance, Office Management and Organization, Supervision of Office Staff, Communications, Coordination of schedules, meetings, conferences, and Special Assignments and Projects.

Starting Salary:

$62,003-$77,504 (midpoint) approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. Salary Range for this level is $62,003-$93,005.
